Amherst Times

Editorial:

There is a mystery concerning one of the candidates who was endorsed by the Republican Party as to where he lives.

The candidate is Richard J. Anderson, son of the former politician Richard Anderson. The information he has released about his history failed to mention where he lives. The latest information which he didn’t supply is that he moved in with his parents

He may or may not be a residence of Amherst. The other five candidates running for the Town Board listed their home address.

There is also confusion about his military record. He has written in different releases he was oversea for 15 months, in another release by him it was 14 months. In his latest news release it was for 10 months. He fails to mention what Company or Unit he was with when he was sent overseas.

Where does he work or does he have any kind of job. It’s very murky as to what he does to support himself. It looks like he may have a job doing something but it’s very unclear. If you read the information he has put out to the public about his current or past jobs it is a bunch of double talk.

There is an election coming up in November which will greatly affect Amherst’s future for a long time. Every candidate running in our town of Amherst will be check out so the public knows the truth about what the candidates are saying and not saying.

If a candidate can’t answer where he lives, what he does for a living, raises doubt in the voter’s minds as to why this person is running for office. Is it to get a job that pays $25,000 a year and be a Republican stooge? We had enough of these kinds of useless Town Board members.

Seems that the CPI data on taxes and residence values on the Amherst website is not functional. That is if you are a republican candidate for supervisor or town board. Democrat info is somehow available.
