Debbie Bucki Talking To The People In Her Effort To Be Our Town Clerk

Debbie Bucki would be an excellent Town Clerk.  She has worked in several supervisory positions, when she was in charge of units and larger groups on her way to obtaining her Doctorate of Nursing degree.

Debbie is probably one of the most recognizable people in Amherst.  She knows the value of pounding the streets to meet people face to face, answering any questions they want to ask.  If Debbie doesn’t know the answer she will find it and get back to the questioner.

This past Saturday Debbie and Ton Weisbeck walked and knocked on the doors of their neighbors on Swanson and Countryside.  On Sunday early afternoon they will be walking the area of Cottonwood and finishing Countryside

Debbie said she has heard more about what’s happening in these neighborhoods in a five minute conversation with these people than in the four years she has served on the Town Board.  She has gathered information about a main water pipe which repeatedly breaks and floods their lawns, driveways and sometimes even their basements.

Debbie isn’t just another ‘yes’ person who says something to a citizen and then forgets it.  When she is elected as the Town Clerk and hears about situations like the broken storm pipe she will make it her responsibility to see that this problem is corrected.  Debbie is a rare person who truly cares about the people she serves

Several citizens have volunteered to walk with Debbie knocking on doors and finding out what things are bothering our citizens and why these problems have been ignored by the Town Clerk and Town government.

Let me first say that I haven’t against Debbir Bucki, but make no mistake if she serves as Town Clerk, she will have absolutly NO say in anything other than what takes place in the the Town Clerks Office.

I would have been moreimpressed if she had spoken to us (the residents) while she was serving to find out what we thought; instead of going door to door Only because she is once again running for office.

I do find it a little odd that now that she finally got a chance to serve on the Town Board, she’s running for a different job. She’s just like Ward, who’s run for everything. AND WEINSTEIN who decieded to run for Supervisor before he was even elected to the Town Board.

Soeaking of which of all the people on the Town Board, Mohan included, Weinstein is the least informed and least caring.

Looks like Debbie is following in Ward tradition of running for office while in office.

I do think it’s funny that she thinks she can solve problems like a walter line break as Town Clerk. That’s what she could have done as a Town Board member.

Any shots at Bucki and Ward are partisan attacks coming from Republican committee members, or, Republican voters/supporters unwilling to truthfully address the real problem - Ninety-eight years out of the last 100, the Amherst Republican Party has had its way with Town of Amherst and its’ government through what can be considered a Republican majority dictatorship. Nothing in town will change because the Republican Party majority doesn’t want anything to change. The system works very well for them and they feel very secure and happy.

The proof of what I say was the recent and theatrical Republican Town Board appointment of Marjory Jaeger to the vacated Town Clerk office. Ms. Jaeger is Vice-Chair of the Amherst Republican Party (not mentioned in her campaign literature), and a long time Republican patronage job holder at the Erie County Board of Elections (also not mentioned in her campaign literature) has also been endorsed by her Republican Party to run for Town Clerk, another home of Republican patronage jobs.

I understand that her former $50,000 a year Republican patronage job at the Board of Elections is so useless, the BOE does even not need to hire a replacement and are actually holding it open for her just in case she loses the Town Clerk election.

Ah that Republican chant “Government doesn’t work” sure holds true when they run government doesn’t it.

Debbie hasn’t taken any money from the GOLOSANO-PIGEON gang. They have given $5000 to Jaeger. Golisano has made it very clear; they’ll get the money to win but they tell what them how to run the clerk’s office. They will be expected to give any information wanted about comany bidding on jects, or any private trouble any workers get into on the job.
