Iannello Announces 40 Ideas in 40 Days Blog
Will allow her to keep focus on an issue based campaign
(Amherst, NY) – Michele M. Iannello (D-Kenmore), Democratic candidate for the 61st State Senate District, announced her new blog, 40 Ideas in 40 Days. Beginning on July 31st Iannello will be blogging about a new idea each day for the 40 days leading up to Primary Day.
The blog can be found out at www.MicheleIannello.com. The blog will focus on ideas, both big and small, to reform government, protect taxpayer money, and provide relief to the middle class among many others.“
Albany is filled with too many politicians whose only ideas are how to get elected and reelected. I have always talked about how I want this to be a campaign about the issues facing Western New Yorkers, that is why I am doing this blog,” explained Iannello.
Iannello focused on how blogging can reach voters directly and allow her to keep her focus on running an issue based campaign.
“With a blog, I have the opportunity to bring my message and ideas directly to the voters. It won’t be focused on who has raised more money or whose leading in the polls, it will be about real ideas to get state government and Western New York back on the track to prosperity,” continued Iannello.
Iannello kicked off her first day of blogging by pushing the smart computer use policy, which she recently proposed for Erie County, for state government. She called for computers to be turned off during non-working hours, to turn off monitors when employees are at lunch or a meeting and to enable energy conserving capabilities on all PCs. After Iannello’s initial announcement Erie County has required employees to turn off computers of the weekend.
Iannello is in her second term in the Erie County Legislature. Before entering public service, she was a real estate paralegal and small business owner. The 61st State Senate district is made up of the Towns of Amherst, Clarence, Newstead, Tonawanda, and part of the City of Tonawanda in Erie County and all of Genesee County. The incumbent, Senator Mary Lou Rath has decided to retire at the end of her term.

Hi Michele,
I applaud you on starting this blog because it will allow an interchange of ideas in real time and because many people…especially young people get their information from the internet first before newspapers.
As you know Western New Yorkers are hard-working people with strong ethics and strong faith systems.
Many many people in our region do not wish for state abortion policy to allow abortions on demand without restraints for all nine months of gestation. However, there are advocates for just such a radical policy among New York democrats. In fact, an atrocious piece of legislation now exists in the State Senate calling for this policy. It would require Catholic hospitals to become abortion providers or close. It would require all OB/GYNs in the State to perform abortions. It would require all phamacists in the State to become part of the abortion industry.
Western New Yorkers need to know your position on abortion. It is troubling to me that you have accepted campaign contributions from two pro abortion lobbies…Emily’s List and Eleanor Roosevelt…This would suggest that you also favor abortions on demand without restraints in NYS.
As Vice President of New York State Democrats for Life…I call upon you to return these pro abortion lobby monies so that in the event you are the winner of the primary and general election for the Sttate Senate seat representing Amherst, Tonawanda, Clarence and Genessee…you could examine this pro abortion legislation without special interests already influencing your vote.
