Another Promise - Broken

There, he’s done it again!  According to my town sources Dr. Mohan will not replace a worker retiring  from the Assessment Department, even though Mr. Williams has repeatedly asked him to.

With the town in the middle of full reassessment Williams needs a complete staff to do the job.  Mohan’s rational for not filling the vacancy was that the county would be taking over the revaluation function.  Really?

I called the County Office and inquired about this previously unknown turn.  The responses ranged from:  “What?” ”I don’t know what you  are talking about,”  “We have no plans to take over reassessments this year, next or anytime in the near future.”

Once again our Amherst Supervisor is pulling”facts” out of his . . . ear.

If the Assessment Department does not have a full compliment of workers the end result will be another hit to our taxes, and remember, Mohan promised we would have the Assessors office fully staffed to do the job.

Thanks, Satish.
