There are many sides to the same story. Below is Erie County’s thought on a possible waste water merger between area towns and a village.

Erie County is interested in studying and evaluating the advantages of merging waste water treatment of  the town of Amherst and other towns and villages in this our area. As of now District 5 in Amherst, UB, Clarence, Village of Williamsville and Amherst are interested in this merger which  could  lead to saving money.

If after meetings and discussions between  the above identities a decision will be  reached as to if the  merger will  save money and still continue to give the public excellent service.  Their will be a strong effort to finds ways to cut money but letting go of workers will not be one of them. There will be no laying off of workers.
