Iran Launches Satellite in a Challenge for Obama
Iran’s official news agency, IRNA, said the satellite was launched using a Safir-2 rocket, pictured at a launch pad at an undisclosed location on Monday.
Iran has launched its first orbital rocket. It is making a statement to the rest of the world. They are moving in a direction that is not in the best interests of peace from the United States’ point of view.
“The launching comes as President Obama has struck a conciliatory tone toward Tehran, suggesting that he will move toward dialogue after years of tensions. Even so, he may take a tough line in the coming months and could seek to tighten sanctions against Iran.”
