I know a gentleman who is retired who lives on Main Street. He joined a group who fix playgrounds. He learned how to use different pieces of equipment and now he believes there no job his group can’t fix in a playground.
His group is small but they have managed to put a dent in the mangled playground equipment and areas. Amherst has a wealth of elderly residents who are healthy enough to use their skills to start other groups to fix our playgrounds.
The TB screams we have little or no money to fix the playgrounds. The senior citizens reply, “Give us some money for parts and we can do the rest of the job.”
