Cook The Winner By 1001 Years

In today’s Buffalo News, City and Region, Section B, there is an article about who reached the North Pole first, Frederick A. Cook or Robert E. Perry.  It is a question that has been pondered foe years, until today.

According to the Buffalo News article Frederick A. Cook wrote, in 1908, that he assumed he had reached the North Pole.  His claim was widely believed until Robert E. Perry claimed to reach the pole in April, 2009 (that’s the year the news article lists.)  Perry asked Cook to supply proof of his claim.  He wanted navigational records which were purportedly left in northern Grrenland.  They were never recovered therefore proof was non existent.

This clearly written article has offered an answer to the mystery.  Cook reached the North Pole 1001 years before Perry.
