It’s Time The Citizens Know What’s Really Happening In Amherst

November 30, 2008 5:14 pm

The public must, from this day forward, put pressure on our politicians to be open to the public; inform the public what deals our town is involved in; and insist there be no more back door dealings.

Town Board meetings can’t hold any more discussions without the public being totally informed what is going to be discussed.  There should be no more buying anything without the public being told about it at least 2 weeks before the purchase.

The more the Town Board tries to hide things, the harder the public must come down on them.  A been small group of citizens has been formed which is going to be on guard for any type of hustling or anything unethical which the Town tries to do.  They will keep a watchful eye on the planning and engineering departments but above all the Comptroller and Supervisor ’s office.

This group is made up of members of our town who know how games have been played in Amherst for the longest of time.  They are tired of the shenanigans and are ready to insist on better government for all of us.
