Amherst Conservative Chair Kindel Likes Ward, Loughran

While it is well known that newly elected Amherst Conservative Party Chairman Bill Kindel takes a dim view of town Supervisor Satish Mohan, he seems far more favorable toward certain other incumbents such as Town Board Member Dan Ward and Erie County Legislator Tom Loughran.

“I have had my share of disagreements with Dan Ward,” he admits. “We disagree on a lot of things. But, we do agree on two important issues: finding more green space for the residents of Amherst and respecting the dignity of each and every citizen of the town. For those reasons, I think that Dan has done a good job and deserves re-election. I also feel that Tom Loughran has done a good job of representing us at County Hall and deserves another term if he wants one.”

Does Kindel’s assumption of the leadership of the Amherst Conservative Party mean he will not run for Supervisor himself in 2009?

“It may make it more likely, who knows,” he replies. “I know that if I was elected, I would be a good supervisor because I know what the town needs.”
