Amherst’s Workers Will be Axed Through No Fault Of Their Own
Town workers should demand how many of them will lose their jobs in Dr.Mohan’s new budget. The word around town is at least 70 will be gone. If the workers know there are going to be severe cuts in the work force it would be a good idea to explain to the people of Amherst why they are necessary.
The residents should understand that the cuts are due to massive foul ups made by past Town Boards and under the leadership of Dr. Mohan. All of these have put Amherst in a large money pit.
We need to increase the amount of revenue we have available. There are basically two ways to bring more money into Amherst. One is higher assessment and the other is to fire workers. The people of Amherst must rise up and ask how we got so messed up; who is to blame?

Said this at 7:35am:The people of Amherst have three outstanding Democrats on the Town Board…Dan Ward, Deb Bucki and Mark Manna. In addition, Republican Guy Marlette adds excellent experience in practical business ability as he runs his own company very successfully.
I believe these four individuals will do quality work in assessing the needs of the Township given current fiscal realities.
Amherst citizens deserve and expect a quality of life that exceeds many other communities. We have excellent public servants across the board in each and every department. Our public employees are well educated and perform admirably. They well deserve all taxpayers in Amherst to appreciate what they contrible to our excellent quality of life.
Even given tight economic times…we can get through this together without any meatax taken to our public service departments. We want an excellent police force. We want firefighters who deliver excellent service in the timely manner they always show in fighting fires to protect life and limb.
Our Amherst Museum is a crown jewel run by an able Executive Director who has worked long hours with a bare bones staff. We do not need to neglect this quality asset for our community.
Amherstonians-do not let Dr. Satish Mohan ruin our beautiful community with a ridiculous review of our public servants. We need all the Town Board Members to step up to the challenges we all confront with wisdom and not foolishness.
