Golisano Lowers Standards for New York State Senate

Posted by Mike Wrona

Word is that the Responsible NY PAC of billionaire Thomas Golisano is prepared to endorse boxer Joe Mesi for the 61st District State Senate Seat. That’s good for Golisano. In Mesi he has what I am told is a really nice young man but not all that up to the task intellectually.

His resume shows him to have attended D’Youville College for 3 years and Erie Community College for 2 years. Net result, 5 years of college to receive a 2 year degree form Erie CC. Mesi recently told the Batavia Daily News in a front page article that his plan is to “Outsmart” the people in Albany.

What it really means is that Golisano will have the opportunity to call the shots and prepare the legislation that Mesi will be told he supports.

His candidacy is a shot in the are for those Western New Yorkers who think athletes are smart and make the best leaders. Mesi would join the ranks of Tony Masiello (Basketball), Ed Rutkowski (Football), and Jack Kemp (Football) who helped propel this area to the #2 poorest community in the country since 1972.

Thanks Mr. Golisano.

    Hi Mike,

Voters in our area our educated and saavy…we like Joe Mesi…just not for the job in the NYS Senate.

All the other career sports figures who attained public office before Joe…held four year college degrees.

Our parents for the most part were Blue Collar and ethnic…they knew the importance of education and worked two and three jobs to make sure we went to college.

Joe is a nice guy…he just is seeking the wrong job because he has not prepared for it and would need others to tell him what to do.

Perhaps Mr. Gollisano is only interested in politicians he can direct?
If so…he is very WRONG TO TRY TO DISMANTLE DEMOCRACY WITH BEING A BEHIND THE SCENES DICTATOR PAYING THE WAY FOR CANDIDATES HE CAN CONTROL THOUGHT STEVE PIGEON in my humble opinion.
