Dan Ward, Democratic candidate for the 61st District New York State Senate, spent about one hour and fifteen minutes late Thursday morning with the editorial staff of the Batavia Daily News.

After being asked to recap his political career and his plans for the State Senate, the Staff kept up a steady stream of questions covering alternative energy, wind power and property rights, farm policy, development, rural life, rapid transit, taxation, current state finances, his work as a defense attorney, the Amherst Town Board, and his reputation as a bicycle campaigner.

Also discussed was the high caliber of talent and education levels to be found in the state senate and how he feels he would fit in to that environment.
