Dan Ward’s Press Release:

Sunday August 10, 2008

Dan Ward, a Hillary Clinton delegate to the National Democratic Party Presidential Convention, has announced he will be relinquishing his seat to the Convention.

Mr. Ward said, “I was very proud to have been part of her ground breaking campaign to become the first female to head a major party presidential ticket. At the same time, I have traveled many miles going door to door visiting Democrats across the 61st State Senate District as part of my State Senate campaign. The voters have been extremely receptive of my message.  They recognize that I have a long well documented history of actually standing up and fighting for them when others wouldn’t.

While being the 2nd highest vote getter in the 26th Congressional District to become a Hillary Clinton convention delegate was extremely gratifying. Winning this Senate seat and then working to improve the quality of life and economic opportunities for everyone in Northern Erie and all Genesee County is of greater importance.”

    Hi Dan,

Thanks for putting the interests of the voters of the State Senate District 61 ahead of you making a trip to Denver to be a Convention delegate. I understand that Jerry Schad who is running for the Assembly seat against Jim Hayes will be going in your place.

I will be in Denver the week of August 24th to catch the drama of the historic Democratic Convention and to promote efforts to ensure the Party Platform understands the needs to protect human life from conception to natural death.

Thanks for keeping us informed. I will say hi to the Western NY contingent for you.

    Peace,

    Joanne
