Shelly Knows The Doors Are Closimg In On Her

August 3, 2008 8:27 pm

This is Council member Shelly Schratz’s version of her time spent with the Rubino developers and the people.

This is the truth, according to Council Member Shelly Schratz, concerning her visit to some of the people who were against the Rubino brothers’ project.

Shelly said she did speak to four of the people whose names were on the petition voting “no” to the Rubino brothers project.  She said her purpose in going out to the area was to help some people who were having  trouble with their land.

She spoke to a man who told her his garage was sinking.  He suggested she speak with another man who was also having house problems.  She says she did go and speak with this other gentleman.  Again, she said they only talked about his house problem, nothing more.

Shelly said she ended up going to two more homes and talking to the people.  She told me she spoke to them about problems concerning their homes but not one word concerning the Rubino project or the petition they signed in the negative against the Rubino project.

Shelly stated that prior to her talking with any of the people in the area she did speak with the Rubinos, but afterward the Rubinos drove away.

She swore she didn’t go to any home with any of the Rubino brothers to talk about taking their name off the petition.  She was insistent that she didn’t go to any home with any of the Rubino brothers to help persuade the people to take their name off the petition.

Interestingly the four people she spoke with that day did remove their names from the petition sheets.

Shelly completely denies that she tried to influence anyone to reverse their ‘no’ vote on the petition.
