Dan Ward: A Real Fighter For The People Of Amherst
The web site Speakupwny.com has matured from its beginning. There are several excellent writers contributing to this site who make sense and “tell it like it is.” There are individuals, who write comments using vulgar, cheap language, who greatly degrade the site.
Dan Ward has stuck his neck out many times to help the residents of Amherst win battles when they have been wronged. NatureView Park is an example of that extra step being taken when the people were right in their cause. The Council Members who believed in standing strong for the people in that battle were Dan Ward and Bill Kindel.
The public want their Town Board members to fight as hard as possible for them. This is one of Dan Ward’s strongest traits. He is a fighter. Most politicians want to remain popular, so the stay inside a cocoon, lest a concern actually touches them.
In general most people enjoy being liked by others. Sadly, most people know that deep inside themselves they are cowards. They really don’t want to get involved in helping others. Our Town Board is lucky to have a member who steps up for the people when he believes they are right.
Council members come from different backgrounds. Some may have felt their constituents were wronged on various issues, but they have yet to learn to step out of the box to help those same people. There are some council members, who HIDE their real names as they write nasty comments against other council members, who want their cohorts to be real fighters for them when they are in trouble. They want help from members like Dan Ward.

Said this at 7:41am:Dan Ward is committed to the people of Amherst. He sticks with the truth in each and every case which comes before him as a Town Board Member (elected with the largest vote totals of any Councilperson in the past 4 elections). He is unafraid of billionaire developers who trample the Code of the Town of Amherst and get some Councilpeople to look the other way to vote for their projects despite the Master Plan of the Township.
Dan is now ready to take this commitment to the Middle Class and to the values of the good people of Amherst to take on the powers of special interests in Albany to be our next elected State Senator.
Dan possesses the credentials, integrity and genuine heart to be the best spokesman for Senate District 61 comprising Amherst, Tonawanda, Newstead, Clarence and Genessee County.
Dan alone of his democratic opponents has a four year college degree and three years post college to achieve his law degree.
We need Dan in Albany to present the Case of the People of Western NY to those in Albany who have ignored us for over 40 years. He alone will bring meaningful change to better our lives and preserve our values.
Neither of his opponents in the Democratic Primary thought it important to even obtain a minimum 4 year degree. Both of his opponents will need others to tell them what each piece of legislation means and how to vote.
We need competence, commitment and wisdom for our area.
Please vote for Dan in the coming primary September 9th 2008. There is too much at stake to allow incompetent and inexperienced people to represent Western NY in the NYS Senate. Just because his opponents may seem to be “nice” or say they will fight for us is simply not enough…Michelle and Joe are nice people…but the State Senate is the wrong job for either of them…they are not educated enough to represent the people of the 61st Senate District. Both can be good cheerleaders for tourism…but only Dan has the credentials to make our area better in the context of the State Senate.

Said this at 12:33pm:Dan Ward never gave up fighting for Nature View Park. Nature View Park has 1254 acres and is in Amherst. Wow, I know many of you are thinking how did Nature View Park never get developed? The answer to that question is two great men Dan Ward and Bill Kindel that fought many years so the park would never be developed. Dan never gives up and will do what is best for the people.

Said this at 12:19am:When the council members are chosen from different backgrounds, it becomes a difficult task to keep explaining them about the situations of the intermediate officers and public. People like Dan Ward are very few in number. Expecting a hero behind is tough.. but having a Heroic person is brilliance.
