My Point, By Don Oakly

July 13, 2008 9:03 pm

This is my point in this thread. At the work session that starts at 3:00, Satish had the resolution to appoint Mary Wik as TC. Between the end of the work session (about 5:00) and the TB meeting, Satish came up with the name Margie Yaeger. Now how did that happen? Who came up with Yaeger’s name? Who got to the Reps on the TB and got them to go along with it? Who was behind it all? How did Satish canvass 115,000 citizens and pick Yaeger out as most qualified to be TC? All this in less then 2 hours. Why couldn’t the TB put the appointment off for a week to float the Yaeger name to the general public and review her credentials? What was the hurry? It would appear the power behind the Yaeger appointment wanted her appointed and damn the public. The public has a short memory and by the time the election comes all this will be forgotten. Yaegar is up to her neck in Republican machinations. Does she continue to function as Amherst vice chair of the Rep party? And what about Wik? Who got to her and told her to shut up and she’ll still have a job? The old saying in politics is you’ve got to go along if you want to get along. This Yaegar fiasco is an example of politics at its worst. It makes you want to take a shower after watching to hemming and hawing at the TB as the Reps tried to justify their vote. At least Marlette had the gonads to admit it was all politics. But the questions remain – who was behind all this mess?
