1984 Type Equipment Used to Track Gas Guzzlers

The Amherst Town Supervisor said, “Yes” to the Turn Pike Co. to place truck and car monitors in all Town of Amherst vehicles to track where they go during the day and how well the drivers are driving.
These monitors will tell if our drivers: are idling too long; if they often do rabbit start ups; if they go home when they shouldn’t; if they brake too hard; if they speed; if they are stealing gasoline; and a list of other infractions which may waste gas. The cost of these monitors, plus additional pieces, is $45 per truck.
