County Legislator Attorney Mike Ranzenhofer has announced he will seek the NYS Senate 61st District seat.
Mr. Ranzenhofer, who has held a very comfortable seat in the Erie County Legislature for many years, is giving the Republican party a gift. His gift is offering himself up as a sacrificial lamb for the good of the party.
Ranzenhofer was safe in the Legislature doing little beyond picking up his check and retirement benefits. The Republicans couldn’t find a top notch candidate to face the very strong Democratic challengers.
Republicans should be prepared to give a good “No work” job when he loses, not that he needs the money.
