Letter to the Editor:

The Recreation Commission has decided to raise the price to golf at our golf courses, the cost of our season passes and any other cost to play on our golf courses to bring in more money to the Town.

In 2007 our golf courses lost $94,000 dollars.  In 2008 nothing is going to be done differently at our courses from what was done in 2007 to improve the condition of the courses.

There are steady golfers who will pay these increases but for the sake of all the other golfers, let’s hope the Town will start repairing our golf courses as soon as possible.

The golf course lose money because they are horribly run. The bag lines are tremendous, nothing is done to speed the pace of play and the limited tee times make sure that the old timers are taken care of.

I’ll pass on a 6 hour round, thank you!

tHE tOWN BETTER IMPROVE THE GOLF COURSES, OR FEWER AND FEWER PEOPLE WILL BE WILLING TO PAY THE HIGHER FEES, AND THE COURSE WILL JUST LOSE MORE MONEY. wHEN IS STHE TOWN BOARD GOING TO LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT BEING BUSINESS LIKE. THE TOWN IS NOT A BUSINESS– IT IS TO BE RUN TO BENEFIT THE CITIZENS AND TAXPAYERS–BUT RUN EFFICIENTLY.
