NOTES ON THE SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING OF 7/23/07

July 23, 2007 9:22 pm

amhersttownhall.jpgThere was a special meeting of the Town Board Monday afternoon 7/23/07. The Town Board approved William A. Snyder of Amherst to be the Town’s Arborist. Highway Supervisor Bill Anderson said Mr. Snyder was well qualified. Mr. Snyder will be paid $85/hour for his work and it is estimated he will work three weeks on the project. It is unclear how many hours/day/week he will work so his total payment is uncertain.

Another arborist has already looked at the 7000 damaged trees. Mr. Snyder will not revisit all 7000 trees; he will take 10% of the 7000 as a sampling. Snyder will choose 700 of the most damaged trees to fell.

The Town Board approved the company Urban Insulation to insulate the Nike building so we can have a secure place to keep the Town’s records.

Dr. Mohan brought up approving the Reassessment Bid and Contract. None of the Town Board members knew exactly what Dr. Mohan wanted to do because he was very unclear. The Town Board members tabled his suggestion and will bring it up at a future Monday evening TB meeting. This will give the people a chance to hear for themselves what the Supervisor wants to do about the Reassessment Bid and Contract and they can voice their ideas.

There was a misjudgment on how many totes the Town needed to purchase. $40,000 must now be transferred into the Totes account to buy more of them.
